Juvenile Services
Juvenile Services Program
Various groups and classes are offered to juvenile offenders. The groups are
designed to help facilitate change by challenging each participant to examine
their thinking habits and beliefs as well as the behaviors that led to their
arrest. Additionally, the facilitator will focus on a variety of topics such as
problem solving skills, decision-making skills, drug education, goal-setting
skills, anger management skills and interpersonal skills.
We are dedicated to helping each participant develop the skills and strategies
that are necessary to help avoid future anti-social behavior. In addition,
parents are welcomed to attend an orientation session and will be given
literature to take home that will assist them in developing their parenting
skills.
All workbooks and supplies used in the group are provided by the Program for a
minimal fee that is passed on to the client.
Referrals to the Juvenile Program are made by JASS (Juvenile Alternative
Sanctions System), DCF, the Public Defender’s Office, Department of Juvenile
Justice and the Juvenile Court. We also accept juveniles into our life skill
groups on a voluntary basis.
A youth may participate without having been arrested or referred by the court.
